The R-17 Elbrus, also known as Scud-D, is a short-range ballistic missile system. Mainly designed for tactical purposes, its mobile and can carry various types of warheads.
Developed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War, it was first deployed in 1962. Its use has been widespread across numerous conflicts such as the Iran-Iraq War and the Gulf War. The R-17 remains in service with several countries despite being largely phased out by Russia.
